4th International Workshop on Collaborative Robots and Human Robot Interaction (CR-HRI 2013) Call for Papers and Participation As part of The 2013 International Conference on Collaboration Technologies and Systems (CTS 2013) http://cts2013.cisedu.info May 20-24, 2013 The Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina San Diego, California, USA In Cooperation with ACM, IEEE, and IFIP Submission Deadline: January 11, 2013 Submissions could be for full papers, short papers, poster papers, or posters SCOPE AND OBJECTIVES Applications of and research on robotic technologies are growing in both civilian and military contexts, including small unmanned ground sensors, socially assistive and companion robots, and multi-ton unmanned vehicles. In the near future, we anticipate that robots will be increasingly employed in collaborative interaction with humans and other robots, working together to achieve common goals. The study, design, and implementation of interaction among collaborative robots as well as between robots and their human operators is critical to the successful employment of robots, and, therefore, needs careful examination and further research. This workshop on collaborative robots and human-robot interactions - to be held as part of the 2013 International Conference on Collaboration Technologies and Systems - will focus on the areas of human-robot interaction and human-robot collaborative technologies. We invite original contributions from researchers in academia, research laboratories, and the computer industry on these emerging and important areas of information technology. Our goals are to provide a dedicated refereed workshop that fosters closer interaction among researchers from multiple relevant disciplines, including robotics, human-robot interaction, design, cognitive science, psychology, computer science, anthropology, human-computer interaction, as well as user communities, and to provide a forum in which they can exchange their findings and ideas. Topics of interest include (but are not limited to) the following: Collaborative Robots and Unmanned Vehicles (CR & UV)
PAPER SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS You are invited to submit original and unpublished research works on above and other topics related to collaborative robots, autonomous vehicles and human robot interactions. Submitted papers must not have been published or simultaneously submitted elsewhere. Submission should include a cover page with authors' names, affiliation addresses, fax numbers, phone numbers, and email addresses. Please, indicate clearly the corresponding author and include up to 6 keywords from the above list of topics and an abstract of no more than 400 words. We welcome prospective participants to submit either full papers (up to 8 pages) or short papers ( up to 4 pages). Poster papers and posters (please refer to http://cts2013.cisedu.info/home/posters for the posters submission details) will also be accepted for submission. The manuscript should use the two-column IEEE format. Additional pages will be charged at additional fee. In case of multiple authors, an indication of which author is responsible for correspondence must be indicated. Please include page numbers on all submissions to make it easier for reviewers to provide helpful comments. Submit a PDF copy of your full manuscript via Workshop EasyChair page at https://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=ctscrhri2013. Only PDF files will be accepted, submitted via the web link above. Each paper will receive a minimum of three reviews. Papers will be selected based on their originality, relevance, contributions, technical clarity and presentation. Submission implies the willingness of at least one of the authors to register and present the paper, if accepted. Authors of accepted papers must guarantee that their papers will be registered and presented at the workshop. Accepted papers will be published in the Conference proceedings. Instructions for final manuscript format and requirements will be posted on the CTS 2013 web site. It is our intent to have the proceedings formally published in hard and soft copies and be available at the time of the conference. The proceedings is projected to be included in the IEEE Digital Library and indexed by major indexing services accordingly. If you have any questions about paper submission or the workshop, please contact the workshop organizers.
